The Tech Bubble's Still Inflating, Folks
So, the tech world's still chugging along, huh? Like a rusty engine that refuses to die. Honestly, it's exhausting. We're constantly bombarded with news about the next big thing, the next unicorn, the next "disruptive" innovation that's gonna change our lives forever. Give me a break.
The Illusion of Progress
It's all smoke and mirrors, people. Shiny gadgets and empty promises. Companies are valued at billions of dollars based on nothing but hype and potential. Potential that, let's be real, rarely materializes. We're living in a digital Potemkin village, where everything looks great on the surface, but behind the facade, it's all crumbling.
And the worst part? We're all complicit. We lap it up. We share the articles, we retweet the announcements, we pre-order the gadgets. We're so desperate for the next dopamine hit that we're willing to overlook the fact that most of this stuff is utterly useless. Or, even worse, actively harmful.
I saw some dude the other day wearing those stupid VR goggles walking down the street, bumping into people. Like, are you serious? Is that the future we want? A bunch of zombies stumbling around with screens strapped to their faces?
The Emperor's New Code
The tech industry loves to talk about "innovation." But what does that even mean anymore? Slapping a new coat of paint on an old idea and calling it revolutionary? Creating a slightly more efficient way to sell us things we don't need?
Let's be honest: a lot of so-called innovation is just finding new ways to exploit people. Exploit their data, exploit their attention, exploit their labor. The gig economy, social media algorithms, targeted advertising... it's all designed to extract as much value as possible from us, the users.

It reminds me of that old story, "The Emperor's New Clothes". Except in this case, the emperor is wearing a VR headset, and we're all pretending that he looks fabulous. But maybe, just maybe, it's time to admit that the emperor is actually naked.
But hey, what do I know? Maybe I'm just a grumpy old man yelling at clouds. Still, I can't shake this feeling that we're all being played.
The Inevitable Crash?
So, is the tech bubble gonna burst? Probably. It always does. History repeats itself, offcourse, and this time won't be any different. The question isn't if it'll happen, but when. And how bad will it be? Will it be a gentle correction, or a full-blown meltdown?
I don't know the answer. And frankly, I don't think anyone does. But I do know that when the music stops, a lot of people are gonna be left scrambling for a chair. And a lot of those chairs are gonna be missing.
I just hope I'm not one of them. But hey, even if I am, at least I can say I saw it coming. And maybe, just maybe, I can write a scathing article about it afterwards.
